A new score from David Holmes, in cinemas January 18th.
The David Holmes / Stephen Soderbergh connection continues with this thriller centred on a double-crossed black ops agent. Holmes delivers a frenetic score heavy on brass and jazzy embellishments, the highlight of which comes in a frantic chase scene. It’s cleverly soundtracked solely to Holmes’ music which is enhanced with percussive elements courtesy of occasional additional muted “action” effects such as the echo of an exploding grenade. Fans of Holmes’ work on the Ocean’s Trilogy will find plenty to admire here.
