Happy November UK friends!

Hope the fall is treating you well! Here is an update from the very cold and rainy Canadian city of Toronto! Some of the bands I'm exciting about and couldn't help but share with you! Hope you enjoy sifting through!

The Mark Inside
This Toronto-based quartet has been circulating Canadian and UK venues for years now, but it was only recently that they released their second, long-awaited LP Nothing to Admit. Their new album offers a fresh batch of bluesy, garage rock that is both electric in sound and nature. The Mark Inside (pictured) has established credibility based on their explosive live show. With the energy and exuberance of a punk band, and musicianship to topple peers, The Mark Inside garner comparisons to Cursive and The Hold Steady while completely staying on their own turf. I am happy to be working their new album via Metalbox. Produced by the legendary Jim Abbiss (Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys), the long wait for new material is easily forgiven within the first few minutes of putting on this rock record.

Watch their mind bending video for “Shots from a Broken Bottle” of their new album.

Mo Kenney
Last month I had the honour of spending some time in Nova Soctia for Nova Scotia Music Week. One of the stand out artists from the week was without a doubt Mo Kenney. Stemming from the small town of Waverly, Nova Scotia, Mo Kenny is a fascinating talent. Labeled as an ‘artist to watch’, her distinct voice and emotionally driven lyrical play landed her in the studio with Canadian mastermind Joel Plaskett. She has to release an album yet a handful of originals like “Sucker” and “The Happy Song” demonstrates her ability to write engaging and memorable melodies that will catch on like wildfire in no time! Last year at the Atlantic Film Festival they did a project where they produced 10 music videos. Mo's video for "Eden" is one of those:

Eamon McGrath
Now from the west side of Canada, Eamon McGrath is ruggard and rough around the edges and I just can't stop listening. Wearing his Springsteen inspired roots on his sleeve, he's a sight not to be missed on stage. Him and his backing band really know how to giv'er if you will. Always a rollicking good time, I had the pleasure of seeing him and the band on Halloween night where dressed as women in dresses, they fully blew the audiences' minds. Who doesn't love a balls-to-the-wall rock and roll experience, right? See a video below courtesy of Exclaim! TV!

Young Galaxy
In other news, Young Galaxy recently announced they are unleashing an album of remixes alongside the deluxe edition of their most recent album 'Shapeshifting'! Oh such fun!! The remix album will be called Versus and Young Galaxy take on indie pop's best new comers. They will be remixing songs from Austra, Handsome Furs, Junior Boys, Grimes, and Arkells. We're really in for a treat! Sounds like the perfect holiday present for the indie-pop inclined friends on my shopping list!

There you have it! See you next month!
