Clash cousin night EASTnotEAST recently made the move to London venue Birthdays, one of the diamonds in the (vintage) necklace around Kingsland Road.
For its inaugural night, EASTnotEAST assembled a glittering cast of breaking artists. Former Clash Ones To Watch artist Bipolar Sunshine brought his full live show down to the Dalston basement, unveiling some brand new material and throwing out a few curveballs to the capacity crowd.
Benin City impressed, with their fusion of indie, electronics and Afrobeat turning Birthdays into a heaving mesh of limbs, sweat and debauchery. Opening artist Tuesday Born was also an intriguing proposition, following the curation of a brand new mix for Clash (tune in HERE).
