Cuartero
Deep and dirty grooves...

Deep and dirty grooves is what you’ll be getting in the latest Clash DJ mix, and plenty of ‘em, from Spanish house ace Cuartero.

Working heady techno vibes through a house framework is one of Cuartero’s specialities, and the producer can be heard taking the deeper, bassier hooks from each genre and weaving them together on various highly regarded labels – Steve Lawler’s VIVa Music, Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour Recordings or the sleek and sharp Noir Music, among others.

You can hear Cuartero slinging around those grooves we mentioned in his punchy offering for the Clash Mix series, which finds him rolling through various club cuts and big 4/4 flavours from DJ W!ld, Nick Curly, Richy Ahmed and John Dimas. Here’s the man himself to explain more about the mix:

“This mix was recorded in one take at my studio, using vinyls and Traktor vinyls. The sound is what I what define as the typical ‘Cuartero sound’, mixing in a traditional way with less need for special effects and concentrated on transmitting pure energy. This is exactly what you can expect from me in a club environment too, always focused on the dancefloor with a distinct groove throughout.”
