The Slow Show have a gentle, intriguing charm, one that takes time to get under your skin but – when it does – it tends to stay there.
Based in Manchester, the band's songwriting has an epic quality, yet it's also humble, humane. Obvious comparisons would include fellow Northern troubadours Elbow, but there's a glacial quality which recalls early National.
Debut album 'White Water' will be released on March 9th, and it's an engrossing collection. Building from gentle, placid Americana to enormous choruses driven by the added bonus of a colliery brass band, The Slow Show have a deeply emotional impact.
