No Joy have always cut an unrelenting slant.
The band's approach - noise tinged with melody, melody tinged with noise - has resulted in some thrilling records, some quicksilver shows.
Returning with 'More Faithful', the group continue to up the intensity, to refine their approach. Out on June 8th via Mexican Summer, it's a bruising return, with the muscular sound matched against a lyrical fragility.
Clash have stepped in to stream the record online - check it out below, following a missive from No Joy themselves.
Hello to all our Briton Minions,
It's us - No Joy. Thank you for coming to check out our latest album "More Faithful". It's a pretty crazy album, and at different times drove each of us completely insane. It draws from a full year of us being desperate and defeated to hopeful and inspired. What you're about to hear is the sound of this band stretched to its full capacity to be tuneful, difficult, aggressive and delicate, all the while tapping in deeply to our skewed experience as sensitive young adults.
We hope you enjoy listening closely to all the thousands of small, deliberate choices we made to have this album stand out, and connect with the way we have exposed ourselves on record. But most of all, we hope you're doing well.
Listen to the album a few times and then maybe go outside. Then come back inside and buy the album from an online retailer or your favourite record shop. We'll come back to play shows in the UK in the autumn, and we'll be very excited to see all of ye.
*~Thanks~*
