PVT
A quick guide...

So, yeah: Clash Loves New York.

The Big Apple has stolen our hearts, and - if a quick scan at our iTunes is to be believed - our record collection as well. Our latest issue is devoted to the city which never sleeps, and all this month we're hosting guest blogs about the hidden secrets of New York.

PVT aren't from New York. However the group have spent plenty of time there, and probably know it's lesser heralded charms better than most. With new album 'Homosapien' out now, we decided it was high time to get their opinion.

Here are Dave Miller's thoughts...

Well, we don't live in NYC, but being a touring band we get a chance to hit there at least once a year, which is a privilege.

Some of our most favourite places to eat in the world are here. Many of them in the Lower East Side. A must is Mission Chinese Food, at 154 Orchard St. We went there recently for a pre-gig lightning-quick first meeting with our new Brooklyn label, Felte Records. A warning should come attached - there were many stomach pains the next day. Well worth it though. Next, the world-famous Momofuku. Maybe it's old news now, but if you've never had it just go get a pork bun. Get a pizza for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Robertas. Less NYC-slice style, more Italian. Worth the ride on the L-train if you're not local. We spent a raucous night at The Meatball Shop with many a booze and meatball being consumed till the wee hours after we played Music Hall of Williamsburg nearby.

So, can you tell we like the food there? After you've consumed all that, a walk in Central Park might need to be had, especially if the weather's nice. You can do some squirrel watching, and look up at the buildings and remember the end scene of Ghostbusters.

All the venues we've played there have been great: Mercury Lounge, Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall Of Williamsburg & Glasslands and are all definitely worth checking.

Bonus points: If you're an old Seinfeld fan, head up Broadway and get your photo taken outside of here like a nerd.
